The gesture before the object
Fotova Creation is the atelier of Christina Fotova. Everything is made by hand, piece by piece: the knitting, the felting, the stitching of ornaments and beads.
Cashmere is chosen for its lightness and its hold. It is a demanding fibre that forgives little and rewards patience: worked badly it sags, worked well it lasts through many winters.
A piece takes several days. Nothing is mass-produced and nothing is kept in quantity.
One-off pieces
Dyeing is done in small baths and ornaments are mounted one by one: no two pieces come out alike. That is why a creation available today may be gone tomorrow, and why it can be made again but never copied.
